This rug is handmade by indigenous artisans in Argentina, using hand spinning and flat loom weaving techniques, time-honored traditions by exquisite craftspeople. This rug is plush and soft, an elegant design element to add to your home or office.

Available in Madder Pink which is named after the madder root which has a distinct pink color, but earthy and grounding quality.

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR SPECIAL ORDER IN ANY SIZE

Natural vegetable and lead-free mineral pigment dyed, without added chemicals such as polypropylene plastic, this rug is made of 100% pure sheep wool, naturally eco-friendly and flame resistant. In addition to being a sustainable material, wool is also a natural thermal and acoustic insulator. The pigments used include UV filters and the wool density of these rugs is 2.1 kg of wool x sq meter.

Contracted through a Certified B Corporation within Argentina, every rug is ethically made by hand, insuring that the artisans are properly compensated, respected and honored and their work continues to preserve this ancient and traditional art form. Working to insure a fair trade environment, a Certified B Corporation must comply with the highest social, environmental, transparency and corporate responsibility standards.

When you buy this rug you become a significant member of a project spanning more than 15 years and involving more than 140 weavers and artisans in the north of Argentina, always respecting the ancestral knowledge and wisdom of local communities and their traditions.

Although made to be uniform and put through extensive quality control, each rug is entirely made by hand and slight variations in color, texture and measurements may occur.

CARE & CLEANING:

Underlay. Always use a non-slip pad under handmade rugs to prevent slipping.

Vacuum your rug on a regular basis. Use only the largest attachment tool on the vacuum hose and make sure that it doesn’t have any kind of brush. Never vacuum with a rotating blade.

Discoloration. Direct exposure to sunlight (or to any other intense light such as halogen bulbs) for extended periods of time can cause the textile to become discolored or fade.

Dry clean only. If cleaning is necessary (over a period of time or as a result of stains), we suggest that you solely rely on rug specialists and dry cleaners experienced with and specialized in rugs.
