About

Patrona Textiles was created out of passion for the earthy and grounding elements that make up hand woven textiles: hand spun natural fibers, animal wool and cotton, natural pigment and plant dyes. With a deep appreciation for the artisans that are keeping these traditions alive, who pass their techniques down by generations, we aim to honor the people who ingeniously and expertly design each piece. Our biggest focus is to insure that artisans globally, but specifically in Argentina, remain supported by continuing to have a market for their goods. We insure that the artisans we work with are compensated fairly and ethically, thus continuing in their crafts, rather than looking for work in a different field. Each year the artisan trade shrinks as handmade goods are replaced by machine made and mass produced products. Patrona Textiles is a global marketplace joining the work of passionate textile craftspeople with equally passionate enthusiasts to insure their art form is not lost forever.

Moorea Morehart is a Film and Television producer whose focus shifted to creating Patrona Textiles after a passion for hand woven rugs and blankets took her on journey through Northern Argentina where she learned there was a lessening amount of handmade goods due to a lack of access to a broader marketplace. Being the creator of her own line of handmade tote bags, Made with Morehart, Moorea had taken the first leap into the textile trade. But with Patrona Textiles the aim is to deepen the connection to the indigenous and traditional textile artisans, to be the conduit so their goods make it out into the world and so that appreciation for their craft expands. Having grown up spending part of the year in Argentina, the richness of the way of life has impacted her greatly - her aim is to bring the vitality of life and the closeness of the connection to the earth into the homes of anyone as passionate about preserving ancient techniques and art forms as she is.
